I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice world title holder Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Mentality

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, said.

"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is truly going ahead.
